Southern Arizona Dominates Business Week’s Top Ten “Best Affordable Places to Retire”
Great weather, affordable real estate, plenty to do – Life is good!
Apparently, there’s no place like Southern Arizona. A recent Business Week article, “America’s Best Affordable Places to Retire”, hands out three of the top ten slots right here in our neighborhood. Tucson is Number One — in all of America. A university town and bustling employer, the city also took top honors in the American Association Of Retired Persons’ magazine profile of “Best Places to Live”.
Next up is Apache Junction, at Number Four, proud of its attention to public safety and Parks & Reecreation. Rounding it all out at Number Ten is Elgin, practically next door to Sierra Vista. It’s a tiny town, with a giant wine community. According to Business Week, Elgin is “famous for its wine festivals”. Outside the Top Ten, Arizona continues to stand out, with Pinetop, Sedona and Rio Verde all making the list — all but one, in the Southern part of the state.
It’s no surprise to us that Southern Arizona gets high marks on the country’s lists of livable places. We have everything — healthy economy, robust infrastructure, rich, varied lifestyle — and a fabulous climate to enjoy it all in. In fact, thanks to its elevation, Kings Ranch Estates can boast some of the most comfortable weather in the state. With three of the top ten spots all well within an easy morning’s drive of the Ranch (you’ll be there by lunchtime), we’re proud to be located in the most livable part of the most livable state in America.
WAGON TOURS of Kings Ranch were only one of the many attractions at our Grand Opening. On Saturday, we kept families entertained throughout the day. Here's our Driver, Steve Boyce, coming in for another round.

We’re Officially Open!
Our Kings Ranch Grand Opening was a resounding success. We kicked off on Thursday, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and special welcome to our Realtor partners. Over the following three days, people came from all over Cochise County, from nearby Pima County and even from out of state, for their first look at the ranch. We wish to thank the Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce, who made a special contribtution to our ribbon cutting ceremony, as over 130 people in attendance participated throughout the early evening. We were honored to have had so many come out and show their enthusiasm for Kings Ranch. A particular thank you goes out to Linda Huffman and her hard–working team from Realestate.com, for being instrumental in the event’s success. If you haven’t seen Kings Ranch, our staff will welcome you to our Discovery Center! Come see a property full of the most extraordinary homesites available in the area today. You’ll be impressed, first by its vast beauty, then by its incredible price! This is an opportunity not to be missed.

AFTER MORE THAN A YEAR of hard work and flanked on all sides by members of the Sierra Vista Chamber Of Commerce, our leader, Ken Komenda (with his leader, Suzanne Miscisco), has the honor of cutting the ribbon that declares Kings Ranch officially open.

GUESTS LOVED our wagon tours. It was a great, fun way to view the property and, as you can see, everyone came back happy. Alicia Guerrero & Lynn Warren, both of RealEstate.com, prove our point.

WE LOVE COWBOY POETS and plan to bring them back. “Dallas”, shown here with Ken, came to us from Tombstone and told the story of the ranch on our wagon tours and around the site. The Kings Ranch Discovery Center is a natural performance space and will be host to a variety of events.
